The Malaysian customer, a cable and rubber company, is a core supplier to the country's power and automotive industries.  Their main product lines include 10kV-220kV high-voltage cables (including rubber insulation layers), oil-resistant rubber seals for automotive engines, and industrial rubber gloves. Daily production volume: 120km of high-voltage cables and 60,000 rubber products.

Production line characteristics:

 

Cable extrusion speed reaches 35m/min (high-temperature vulcanization process, high environmental dust concentration);

Rubber products undergo 180℃ vulcanization (rough surface, high temperature resistance required);

Must meet State Grid traceability standards (cables) and automotive industry RoHS standards (rubber seals).

Customer's Core Problems (Typical Industry Pain Points)

Based on the production characteristics of the rubber and cable industry, the customer faced the following five core problems:

 

Blurred printing at high production speeds:

With a cable extrusion speed of 35m/min, the existing 300DPI inkjet printer produced severe ghosting of model and length codes, resulting in an acceptance rate of only 82%;

Insufficient surface adhesion:

Cable rubber insulation layer: 18% of the printed codes peeled off after friction, and faded after 6 months of outdoor use;

Vulcanized rubber products: Rough surface, easy ink penetration and blurring, adhesion only 75%;

Lack of traceability compliance: State Grid requires 2mm×2mm Data Matrix traceability codes to be printed on cables, but the existing equipment has low resolution, resulting in a 12% scanning failure rate;

Cable workshop: High rubber dust concentration, print head clogged twice a week, each maintenance taking 1.5 hours;

Vulcanization workshop: Temperature 80℃ + humidity 60%, unstable ink viscosity, fluctuating printing quality;

Substandard oil resistance: Automotive seals come into contact with engine oil, and the existing printed codes completely blurred after 24 hours of immersion.
