2. Do I need a technician to install the new module?
No. The system is designed for "engineer-free" maintenance. An on-screen wizard provides a 7-step guided process that operators can typically complete within 30 minutes without specialized tools.
3. Can I reuse the RFID tag from the old module?
No. The RFID tag is a unique identifier used by the printer to verify that a new module has been installed and to track its remaining lifespan. Once the module is depleted, the printer software will mark the tag as used.
4. What happens if I miss the service deadline?
The printer will provide on-screen alerts as the service deadline approaches. While the printer may continue to operate for a limited "grace period," failure to replace the module in time can lead to excessive pump load, ink contamination, or a complete system lockout to prevent hardware damage.
5. Does the module include the printhead filter?
The module is a single integrated unit containing the main filter and ink handling components. However, printhead cleaning is a separate routine procedure. The Linx 8900 features an automatic flushing system, and the printhead typically only needs to be cleaned every three months.
6. What is the difference between IP55 and IP65 modules?
