FAQ
Q1: Can Matthews inks be used universally across all coding machines?
We do not recommend it. Matthews inks are formulated specifically for particular printhead technologies (such as the V-Series large-character systems or the L-Series thermal systems). Using an ink other than the one specified may lead to printhead clogging or damage to the pump system.
Q2: How do I choose between aqueous (water-based) and solvent-based inks?
Aqueous: Suitable for porous materials (paper, corrugated cardboard, untreated wood); it is environmentally friendly and low-odor.
Solvent-based: Suitable for non-porous materials (metal, plastics, coated paper); it offers fast drying times and strong adhesion.
Q3: Can expired ink still be used?
Industrial inks contain chemical solvents and pigments; once expired, they may develop precipitates or undergo changes in viscosity. Using expired ink will increase maintenance costs and compromise print quality.
